The duel system

Duels let players fight each other (one-on-one or in parties) without getting a penalty. Players can start a duel when they aren't in combat. Duels are possible between players of different levels. During a duel, skills and items related to escaping (Return, BSoE, etc.) can't be used.

Even if you lose a duel, you get no penalty and don't lose XP, as you would on a normal death. After the duel ends, the participants' HP, MP and CP return to their original state. All effects put on you during the duel disappear after it ends. If you check "Decline Duels" in the game options window, you'll automatically decline all duel offers.

One-on-one duel

You can challenge a player to a duel using the command /duel or by clicking the Duel icon in the Action. window. You're considered the winner of a duel if your opponent's HP drops to 1. Each one-on-one duel can last no more than two minutes.

If during a duel a participant attacks NPC, or NPC attacks a player, the duel ends and the participants' HP/MP/CP is restored to the level it was at before the duel started.

Party vs. party duel

You can challenge another party to a duel using the command /partyduel or by clicking the "Party Duel" icon. Only the party leader can challenge another party, but it's enough to select any player of the opposing party to issue the challenge. If the challenged party accepts, both parties are moved to the arena. Each party duel can last no more than two minutes.

A party can't challenge or be challenged to a duel if its characters are in the following conditions:

If the party issuing (accepting) a duel challenge was in Command Chanel, it will automatically be removed from it after the duel starts. If a party starts a duel during party matching, it will be removed from matching. After the duel starts, all trade operations of the party members will be canceled.

Ending a duel early

In the following cases the duel ends early:
