Territory Wars

Main article Territory Battles.

Clans

The maximum level of Clan has been raised to 11. Raising the level requires:

• Clan fame points: 75,000
• Clan members: more than 170
• Must own Territory Battles.
• At level 11, the number of royal guards can be increased to 30 in each Royal Guard by reinforcing them.

Additional clan skills have been added:

• Clan Body - Level 3 - Requirements: 13200 Clan Fame Points, Earth Egg * 10

Clan halls

• The castle tax is now added to the rent for auction-type Clan Hall. The rent itself stays the same.

Rim Pailaka Rune

• A dungeon, The Rim Pailaka Rune, has been added; only members of a clan that owns a Castle or Fortress can enter it.
• Pailaka Rune Castle is a new type of dungeon where you have to complete a mission to help a special NPC.
• You can get there through Warden in a Castle or Detention Camp Warden in a Fortress.

Castle sieges

• Castle Siege, previously held on Saturday and Sunday, have been moved to Sunday in the intervals 16:00-18:00 and 20:00-22:00, since Territory Wars have been introduced.
• All participants in a Castle or Fortress Siege siege are marked with their clan name to make friendly and hostile forces easier to identify.

Fortress sieges

• Two hours before a Territory Battle starts, registration for Fortress sieges becomes impossible.
• The maximum Fortress ownership time has been changed from 75 hours to 168 hours (7 days).

Olympiad

3 vs 3

• A new type of Olympiad game has been added: 3 vs 3.
• The leader of a party of 3 players registers for the game at Olympiad manager.
• The number of points lost or gained is calculated from the total Olympiad points of all team members.
• The team game "3 vs 3" doesn't depend on classes. In this game no buff is given at the start of the match, and none can be obtained during the match.
• As soon as 9 parties register for the game, two separate matches start for 4 parties, and the remaining parties wait for the next game.
• The rest of the game rules match the existing rules of the Grand Olympiad.

Points and Rewards

• To eliminate overly large gaps in Olympiad points, the rewards for Olympiad match results have been changed as follows:
  • Rank 1 - Top 1 - awarded 120 Points
  • Rank 2 - Top 10 - rewarded with 80 Points
  • Rank 3 - Top 25 - rewarded with 55 Points
  • Rank 4 - Top 50 - rewarded with 35 Points
  • Rank 5 - All participants who didn't make it into Top 50 are awarded 20 Points
• Noblesse Gate Pass are no longer given. New reward items have been added — Olympiad Token. New rewards can be bought for Olympiad Tokens from Olympiad Manager The existing rewards can still be bought for Noblesse Gate Pass.
• Participants can get a reward depending on the number of wins and losses and the total Points if they've taken part in Olympiad games more than 9 times.
• Level 83 skill books (Forgotten Scrolls) have now been added to the list of rewards available via Grand Olympiad Manager.

The following time-limited items have been added:

• Olympiad Warrior's Ring – 30 Day Limited-time
• Olympiad Warrior's earring – 30 Day Limited-time

The following number of Olympiad Tokens is given for winning a match; the reward for winning a "3 vs 3" match is the highest:

• Non-class Game: 30 Olympiad tokens
• Class Game: 40 Olympiad tokens
• 3 vs 3 Game: 50 Olympiad tokens

Other changes

• Olympiad tokens can be used for Noblesse teleportation.
• When a player moves to the Olympiad Arena, all skills with a reuse time under 15 minutes are reset.
• Blessed Spiritshots and Blessed Beast Spiritshots can now be used in the Olympiad Arena.
• The bonus points for Hero status have been changed to 180 points.

Aerial Cleft

Hunting grounds: Seed of Infinity and Seed of Destruction

New hunting grounds have been added on the continent of Gracia: Seed of Destruction and Seed of Infinity.

Since these Seeds have sealed off Gracia's territory, making travel by land or sea impossible, Gludio Airship Field. has appeared west of Tallking Island Airships on a regular schedule will take you from Gludio Airship Field to Keucereus Alliance Base in Gracia.

Seed of Destruction

• Seed of Destruction, ruled by Tiat, Lord of the Mounted Troop, has appeared in the western lands of Gracia. Tiat commands the Mounted Troop, a powerful destructive force. Don't be fooled by his frail appearance — he has built a powerful system governed by his strong authority.
• Seed of Destruction is a hunting ground for characters of level 75+ that becomes an instance depending on its capture status.
• You can get into Seed of Destruction through Allenos, who hides inside the runway.
• S82- and S84-grade items can be obtained here through quests and hunting. Attribute items can be obtained by gathering while the Seed is captured.

Capture process

When the Seed is captured Dragonkin:

• The ultimate goal is to make the Mounted Troop destroy the gates and the force-field device inside the Seed, and to attack Tiat, the leader of Dragonkin.
• The hall containing instances can be entered by players in a command channel of 36~45 people of level 75+.
• Detailed information can be obtained from Servant Allenos.

Entry conditions and restrictions for Seed of Destruction:

• Admitting NPC = Allenos
• Hunting zone of the Capture/Defense type
• Accessible levels = 75 ~ 85
• Entry restrictions = Command channel for 36 ~ 45 people
• Entry restrictions = Reset at 14:30 GMT+3 every Wednesday and Saturday

When the Seed is captured Keucereus Alliance:

• While the Hall is captured, you can go inside for free.
• You can join the battle with Dragonkin Remnants through Remnants Manager Edric at the landing site.
• The movements of Balaur can be tracked through a spy sent by Keucereus to prepare their surprise attack.

Remnants Battle Area:

• Breakthrough-type hunting zone
• Accessible levels = 75 ~ 85
• Entry restrictions = Single party ( 2 ~ 9 people )

When the Seed is being defended by Keucereus Alliance:

• There's no limit on the number of people who can enter while the Balaur army, the Mounted Troop, prepares a surprise attack to recapture it; Seed of Destruction. Keucereus Alliance must defend.
• During a surprise or frontal attack on the Seed, no one can leave or enter it.
• For Seed of Destruction to stay captured, Control Device must hold it against Balaur for some time.
• If the defense fails, Seed of Destruction is captured by Balaur.
• Information about the attack can be obtained from Allenos, who hides inside the runway.

Information about the current capture status of Seed of Destruction/Infinity can be viewed on the World Map (Gracia), from NPC Dillios in Keucereus Alliance Base and from Gracia Survivor in every village.

Aerial Hunting Grounds

• In flying transformation you can hunt several aerial raid bosses.
• Hunting is possible after getting the related quest at Keucereus Alliance Base. Monsters in the air don't drop items: everything that drops from the monsters is auto-looted by players. A yellow system message will tell you which item(s) you've received.

Changes to existing hunting grounds

Valakas

To get various classes involved in the raid on Valakas and make the battles more strategic, the following changes have been made:

• Stabilizing the hunt through tanking - The priorities of attacked opponents have been changed, and tanks now have the highest priority.
• New ranged attack - Healer classes have been given a new type of ranged attack and a strong debuff.
• The terrain of Valakas' Lair has been changed: the rise near Valakas' Lair. has been removed

Silent Valley

• Silent Valley has been made melee-class friendly.
• Hunting in this zone can give you various herbs.
• Monsters in this zone attack the master directly, ignoring pets and summons.
• After a monster is killed, Treasure Box of the Ancient Giants and Treasure Box Guards. may appear. Although the guards are very strong, you can easily get access to Treasure Box by using their quirk: they simply don't attack pets and summons.

Swamp of Screams

• Swamp of Screams has been modified to make hunting here easier for melee classes.
• The total number of monsters and their spawn rate have been reduced.
• Monsters in this zone do not use stun or long-range magic attacks.
• Hunting in this zone can give you various herbs.

Hellbound

• The number of items needed to get Premium Caravan Certificate (Life Force: 80 > 56; Contained Life Forces: 20 > 14) on the continent of Hellbound has been reduced.
• The number of Celtus mobs has been slightly increased.

Special mobs

• While traveling the world, you may unexpectedly meet Fortune Bug Monster, and with some chance get an excellent reward for it. Encounters are possible in the following zones: Valley of Saints, Forest of the Dead and Isle of Prayer.

Hot Springs Area

• The duration of debuffs related to Hot Springs has been changed to 10 minutes.

Skills

Learning skills

• Learning skills from NPC no longer requires spellbooks. Skills learned by double-clicking a spellbook still require the book.
• The level required to learn level 81 skills has changed. Those who already own the original level 81 class spellbook can still learn the rare skills at level 81.

Learning rare skills requires level:

• Item: Forgotten Scrolls of each class - Level 81 - Can be obtained as a reward for quests on Hellbound and in Gracia Seed.

Skill enchanting

• The amount of Exp spent on skill enchanting has been reduced 10 times. The amount of Exp spent on safe skill enchanting has been reduced 6 times, and the cost in SP is equivalent to the cost in Exp.
• Enchanting Battle Roar for "Attack" now gives a fixed bonus to P.Atk.
• The amount of HP absorbed when enchanting the skill Bleed for "Sap" has been increased.
• When summon skills of Hell Knight, Maestro and Soultaker are enchanted for "Power", the amount of Exp. received by summoners decreases. If the skill is enchanted to 15+, the summoner stops receiving Exp. altogether
• Enchanting the skill Vengeance for "Power" increases its hate power.
• The number of skill enchant types has been increased.
• A skill enchant option for "Duel" has been added, which increases damage in PvP.

Changes to existing skills

• The reuse time of skills used by players has been reduced 4 times and no longer depends on Atk. Spd and Cast. Spd.
• The reuse time of the following skills has been changed to 1.2 seconds: Blaze, Prominence, Death Spike, Aqua Swirl, Wind Strike, Twister, Hydro Blast, Frost Bolt, Ice Dagger, Hurricane and Curse Death Link.

Combat mechanics

• The value of Evasion in PvP has been strengthened. Higher Evasion now helps dodge more hits in PvP. However, the damage the character takes if they do get hit has been slightly increased.
• Magic critical damage in PvP has been reduced (to x2.5).

The concept of PvP includes the following situations:

• When a Player fights a Player.
• When a summon or pet summoned by a Player fights another Player, summon or pet.
• When a Player fights a transformed Player.

Grade penalties

• The strength of the penalty effect increases in proportion to the difference between the level at which an item of that grade becomes available and the character's current level.
• For example, if a level 20 character equips a C-grade weapon, they get the penalty Stage 1; if they equip a B-grade weapon, they get the penalty Stage 2.

Penalty effects

Recipes and key materials for Icarus weapons can be bought from Special Products Broker Kutran on Keucereus Alliance Base. Buying them requires new quest items from Seed of Destruction and Seed of Infinity.

• Wearing a regular upper armor piece together with masterwork versions of the other pieces of the same set, the character gets both the regular set bonuses and the bonuses from each masterwork piece.
• The upper piece is an exception to the rule above. Since each masterwork upper piece has its own set bonus, combinations of various masterwork pieces and regular items together with an masterwork upper piece won't give you the regular set bonuses for that set.
• Item crafting has been modified, and it's now impossible to create an masterwork upper armor piece.
• Existing masterwork upper pieces can be exchanged for any other masterwork piece of the same set or for the regular equivalent. For example: Masterwork Dynasty Breastplate can be exchanged for a regular Dynasty Breastplate or for Masterwork Dynasty Boots. All this can be done via Blacksmith of Mammon.

Crafting recipes

• Supplies for Aurabird transformations, Clan Airships and recipes for making attribute crystal can be bought from NPC Tolonis, located on Keucereus Alliance Base.
• Recipes are recorded in General Recipe Book (Common Craft).

Various item changes

• The maximum amount of adena that can be carried has been raised from about 2100 million to 9.99 billion.
• The M.Atk of two-handed magic weapons has been slightly increased.
• Icarus weapons, as well as Vesper weapons and armor, can be exchanged for fragment versions.
• By hunting monsters you can get level 82/84 Life Stones.
• The number of items needed to craft Dynasty items has been greatly reduced.
• The number of Dynasty ingredients received for Fragments of Evil Seeds and for Ancient Book of the Demon. has been increased.

Drop of ordinary items

In the following hunting grounds, regular items now drop instead of common items of grade D-B:

• Regular grade D/C items: in all hunting grounds where common items of grade D/C currently drop.
• Regular grade B/A items: in all hunting grounds where common items of grade B/A currently drop, in party dungeons, in Hellbound and in the new hunting grounds.

Automatic drop removal

• Items dropped by monsters are removed by the server after 10 minutes. Items dropped by players aren't removed over time.

Other changes

• The P.Atk and M.Atk of the following weapons have changed:
  • Dynasty Dual Sword: P.Atk and M.Atk increased
  • Icarus Shooter: P.Atk increased
• The range of goods at merchants selling rare items has changed. The base price and number of crystals for Dynasty and Icarus. items have been greatly reduced
• Tips have been added to the descriptions of upper pieces of class Dynasty armor.
• The conditions for wearing Dynasty Leather Mail have changed:
  • Currently: Only Kamael can wear it
  • Changed to: All weapon master classes can wear it, regardless of faction.
• M.Def Dynasty Necklace and Earrings. lowered
• The number of Mammon's Polishing Enhancer needed to repair chaotic items of Dynasty and above has been greatly increased:
  • Dynasty: 7 weapons > 12
  • Icarus: 7 weapons > 14

• Maestro Ishuma has appeared in Gludio Airship Field, whose functions are similar to those of Blacksmith of Mammon for items of Dynasty and above. His services are paid for with regular adena.
• Spellbooks can no longer be bought from NPC Spellbook Seller Some NPC that had no function other than selling spellbooks have been removed from the world.
• Problems with rare and PvP variants of some weapons have been fixed.

Interface

Inventory

• A 3D avatar has been added to the inventory window. The avatar shows only the items currently equipped.

Stats information

• The display of items equipped on the character has been redesigned. The equipment status window has been re-designed.
• Changes to the character's look when changing gear are now easy to see.

Minimap information

• From now on the minimap shows both continents: Aden and Gracia. The display is selected with easy-to-use tabs.

Quest information

• The quest window has been updated to make it easier to use. Quests are now categorized by type: Single, Repeat, Epic, Transfer and Special.

Right-click

• The camera reset by right-clicking can now be turned off. This helps avoid accidental camera turns.
• You can turn off camera reset via the menu Options | Audio/System | Control/Security by checking "Disable right mouse click function."

The "Decline party" option

• An automatic party decline function has been added. It's available via the menu Options | Game | Game System Menu | Party Request Decline.

Assigning a chat channel

• A function for assigning a channel to the current chat tab has been added. The channel is assigned via the chat options window.

Gathering

Aerial Gathering

• On the continent of Gracia, the gathering skill can be used to gather Star Stones.
• The skill "Star Stone Gathering" can be learned by getting the book "Expert Text" as a reward for completing the quest Let's Try an Aerial Collection from NPC Engineer Lekon on Keucereus Alliance Base.
• Having got the book "Expert Text", the player can learn the skill from NPC Tolonis on Keucereus Alliance Base.
• Gathering Star Stone can fail.
• Extracted Star Stones can be turned into the items listed below via Emery Converter in the Aerial Cleft arena or via Common Craft.

Star Stone extracted by gathering can be converted into the following items:

• Exclusive consumables (buffs, etc.) used in aerial transformations.
• Fuel needed to summon and move an Airship.
• Attribute Crystals

Ground Gathering

• Inside the dungeons Seed of Destruction and Seed of Infinity you can gather Energy Compression Stones using Collection Agathion Summon Bracelet.
• Collection Agathion Summon Bracelet can be obtained from NPC Tolonis on Keucereus Alliance Base.
• This Gathering can fail.
• Using Common Craft, you can create Attribute Crystals. This process requires getting a recipe for each type of crystal created. Star Stones is the key ingredient in this process.

Fantasy Isle

A new mini-game has been added on Fantasy Isle: Handy's Block Checker.

Kratei's Cube

• The base reward for all Kratei's Cube participants has been increased from 5 to 10 Fantasy Isle Coins.
• The number of Fantasy Isle Coins given according to individual ranking has doubled.
• The number of Exp and SP given according to individual ranking has been greatly increased.

New rewards bought for Fantasy Isle Coins have been added:

• Red Boing Hammer of Fantasy, Blue Boing Hammer of Fantasy, Small Red Boing Hammer of Fantasy, Small Blue Boing Hammer of Fantasy, Fish Hat and Graduation Cap.

Other changes

• A Vitality level "fill" bar has been added below the Exp bar, letting players keep track of their current Vitality. level
• Storm Dragon Lindvior sometimes appears near Keucereus Alliance Base.
• The amount of Exp restored on resurrection can no longer exceed 90%. Even if the restored XP with clan skills and the Apella Set bonus should exceed 90%, lost XP will only be restored up to 90%.
• Characters below level 63 now have access to pet/summon buffs via Newbie Guide and Adventurers Helpers.
• The item "Agathion Summon Bracelet – Knight" has been added to the shop at NPC Reputation Manager Rapidus.

The way items are returned to a pet's inventory has changed as follows:

• Currently: Items are transferred when the pet is returned (on the first summon, items have to be equipped again).
• Changed: Items are transferred when the pet is summoned (on the first summon, there's no need to equip items again — they equip themselves).

Technical improvements

Instances

• The performance of environment effects on video cards of the GeForce 6 generation and newer has been improved.

Improved Shader effect improvements

• Rendering speed with the "Improved Shader" option enabled has been increased.
• Various improved shader effects have been added to the animations of many skills.

Soft particles

• Some effects have been blended with nearby scenery objects, letting them render more smoothly. You can only see this with the "Use Improved Shader Effect" option enabled.

User interface: creation and delays

• A function has been added for the server to create a user interface window when needed.
• The time needed to start the Lineage II. client has been greatly reduced

The world map structure has been improved (not the interface one)

• The map structure has been improved, so now in flight you can see the terrain a bit farther.
• The performance drop when logging in in towns like Giran (compared to logging in in an open field) has been fixed.
• The problem of terrain being "clipped" by fog has been fixed.

NPC

• The speed of placing NPC around the world has been increased.
• The waiting time for populating the world with NPC after a NPC server crash has been reduced.

Water Effect

• Several problems related to realistic water effects have been fixed, and their performance has been greatly improved. Now many more people can enjoy realistic water in Lineage II.
