Lineage 2 items — weapons, armor, jewelry by grade
In the world of Lineage II, combat equipment comes in the following kinds:
All equipment is divided into grades. An item's grade determines the minimum level from which it can be worn:- No-Grade, NG - worn from level 1
- D grade — from level 20
- C grade — from level 40
- B grade — from level 52
- A grade — level c 61
- S grade — level c 76
- S80 grade — level c 80
- S84 grade — from level 84
- R grade — from level 85
- R95 grade — from level 95
- R99 grade — from level 99
- low (low),
- medium (middle),
- top (top).
Common items
- These items can't be augmented or enchanted, and you can't insert SA. into them. A regular weapon can be turned into a special Kamael weapon or made into dual swords. Regular armor can't be assembled into a set, so it gives no set properties. With the GoD update this type of gear can no longer be obtained in game; only items obtained by characters before the update remain.
Shadow items
- Shadow items can be obtained by completing quests, taking part in events, or bought in shops. Shadow items can't be augmented or enchanted, you can't insert SA into them, and they disappear after a while. The item's duration counts down only while it's equipped on the character, except for jewelry bought for Olympiad Token. Shadow weapons can be bought in the Weapon Shops in Aden and Giran. The shadow weapons available for purchase depend on the character's level.
Standard items
- Normal weapons, armor and jewelry can be crafted by Dwarves, obtained as drops or bought from NPC. These items can be augmented and enchanted, and you can insert SA. into them. If a Dwarf is lucky enough to craft 2 items from one set of resources, these will be Normal items. Normal items of D - C grade can be bought in the Weapon, Armor and Jewelry Shops in all towns (the range may differ between towns) and obtained as drops for killing monsters. Normal items of B and A (Low) grade can be bought in Giran at Luxury Shop and obtained as drops for killing monsters.
Foundation items (Masterwork Armor)
- Sometimes when Dwarves craft armor, weapons or jewelry, Rare items come out. These items can't be used until they're treated with a special compound at the Blacksmith of Mammon. After treatment they become Masterwork items.
Masterwork items
- After treatment at the Blacksmith of Mammon, Rare items become Masterwork items. Weapons and armor gain additional stats. Masterwork items can be augmented and enchanted, and you can insert SA. into them
Unidentified items
- These items aren't equipment. Double-clicking an item gives you the corresponding equipment; on opening you can get items of the following types: for D - S80 grades - Bound and Normal; for R grade and higher - Bound, Normal and Blessed. Unidentified items can be sold to the NPC shop, sold in a private store, sold through the commission trade system, dropped on the ground or destroyed. Unidentified items can be obtained by killing monsters, bought in shops and crafted:
Bound items
- When you open an Unidentified item, it may "bind" to your character, placing certain restrictions on the item:
- Bound items can't be traded, dropped on the ground, sold in a private store or the auction house, or sent by mail, but they can be sold NPC.
- Bound items can't be given the PvP bonus.
- Bound items count toward armor sets (if one or more items in the set are Bound, they count as Normal) starting from B grade and higher. For C - S80-grade weapons, after opening an Unidentified item, the resulting Bound weapon automatically gets one of 3 possible special abilities. A randomly obtained special ability can't be canceled or exchanged for another.
- A Bound item of R grade and higher can be turned into a Normal one using Unbind Scroll, which can be bought from special NPC or obtained as a drop from a Raid Boss.
- When a Bound item is turned into a Normal one, it keeps its enchant level, attribute enhancement and inserted SA, and armor keeps its set type. Augmented Bound items can't be turned into normal ones; the augmentation has to be removed first.
Blessed items
- Blessed items can be traded, dropped on the ground, sold in a private store or the auction house, and sold NPC.
- Blessed items count toward armor sets (if one or more items in the set are Blessed, they count as Normal).
- When Blessed items are modified, their stats increase 2 times more than those of Bound and Normal items.
A weapon deals damage to the enemy in battle. Its main parameters are P. Atk. and M. Atk., plus additional stat bonuses available by inserting Special Abilities into the weapon, adding Elemental Attribute System or inserting Life Stones.

Armor protects against physical damage dealt by the enemy. Its main parameters are P. Def. and type.
- Heavy armor is meant for heavily armored fighter classes (tanks, Gladiator).
- Light armor is for fighters with bows, daggers and fists.
- A robe is meant for mages and support classes (healers, buffers).
A set is a combination of several armor pieces of the same type. A full set improves the character's stats.

- Frintezza — necklace,
- Baium — ring,
- Queen Ant — ring,
- Core — ring,
- Zaken — earring,
- Orfen — earring.

When crafting items of B grade and higher, there's a small (~4%) chance to create a rare item.
Rare items give some bonuses compared to regular ones.
