Talk to Grand MagisterTifaren in Rune Township. Ask her about the necromantic communion ritual. She'll ask who sent you. She won't believe you the first time, so talk to her again, and to prove you aren't lying, show her Cross of Einhasad. She'll agree to help you, but first she'll send you to get her a skull from Forest of the Dead.
Go back to Forest of the Dead. The forest is full of various aggressive mobs whose type changes depending on the time of day (!). Kill Slaughter Executioner (lv. 78), Trampled Man (lv. 78) and Sacrificed Man (lv. 78) until you get Lost Skull of Elf (the mobs stand close together, so you can accidentally pull more than you'd like). Return with the skull to Grand Magister Tifaren.
Using the skull, Grand Magister Tifaren will summon Ghost of Priest. You need to talk to him quickly, and you'll hear a story of betrayal. The ghost will send you back to Priest Innocentin.
Visiting High PriestInnocentin, you'll learn that Lidia, daughter of Alfred', is the mistress of the Forest of the Dead (Lord of the Forest of the Dead). But that's not all. The priest will tell the story of how Alfred became a traitor, seduced by a certain Mysterious Wizard. High Priest Innocentin hired Treasure Hunter to find out what was going on, but he was caught and executed, and his notes were thrown into a well not far from the town of Rune Township.
The priest will give you Letter of Innocentin and ask you to talk to the ghosts of this well and find everything out.
Find the well. First talk to Ghost of Adventurer (Rune Township), who stands near it. At first he'll be shy, but then he'll agree to help you and tell you about the betrayal.
A book is hidden deep in the well, and you need to get it, but it's guarded by a spirit. Click on Well and inspect the well; Soul of Well (lv. 43) will fly out of it and you'll get Jewel of Adventurer. The monster will attack you right away. The main task is to turn the stone red, and the spirit must not be killed until you hear the quest completion sound. It's best to bring a healer, who'll help you hold out against it. You need to stand and heal, letting it hit you. As soon as the task is done, you'll get Jewel of Adventurer (Red), and the spirit can be killed.
When the stone turns red, talk to the ghost again. He'll let you take the report from the well.
Take Sealed Report Box from the well and talk to the Ghost again. He'll break the seal and give you Report Box.
Return to High Priest Innocentin in Rune Township. He'll take the item and ask you to come back later. You don't have to wait long. Keep talking to him, and the priest will offer to let you read the report. Choose "Yes!".
The story tells how Alfred Von Hellman was forced by a certain Nidrah to betray the king, and how Alfred, his family and servants were tortured and killed for treason. But the necromancer used vile, disgusting magic, and they were all revived as undead under the control of Lidia. But then the priest will have some doubts, and he'll again ask you to come back later.
This is the end of the quest and the beginning of the next part — Lidia's Heart. The quest is taken from the same NPC.
