Status window (1)
This window shows your character's name, CP, HP, MP levels, character level, Vitality level and experience. All spells cast on your character are shown to the right of this window. Clicking the status window targets yourself.
Target window (2)
This window is activated only when you select a target, and it shows the target's name and health level. If your target is another player, only the name is shown. Clicking the arrow on the left side of the window shows extra information about your target: for players, the clan and alliance name; for monsters, the race and attributes. Clicking the ESC button cancels the current target.
Shortcut window (3)
Items from the inventory, commands and active skills can be moved to the shortcut window. You can have up to 120 shortcuts on 10 hotkey bars. One to three bars can be shown on screen at once. To switch the displayed bars, use the arrows next to each bar, and for the first bar the Alt + F1-F10 keys. Command shortcuts are used with the corresponding function keys or a single mouse click.
Shortcuts in the window can be locked with the lock button (at the bottom of the window); they're then protected from being added, moved or deleted.
Chat and message window (4)
The upper window shows all system messages. You can turn off showing system messages in a separate window by disabling the corresponding option in the chat settings.
The lower window shows chat messages. It's divided by tabs into channels: All (All), Clan (Clan), Party (Party), Trade (Trade) and Alliance (Alliance). Drag a channel tab to split the windows. If you want to put a window back, just drag it to where the tab used to be. Use the chat window to talk to other players in the world of Lineage 2.
To chat in the clan, alliance, party and trade channels, select the corresponding tab so you don't have to start every message by typing a symbol.
All channels and their commands:
- General chat (Basic chat) — to talk to players near you, just type a message and press "Enter".
- Clan chat (Clan Chat) — type "@" (shift-2 on the English layout) and a message, and all your clan members will see it, wherever they are.
- Alliance chat (Alliance Chat) — type "$" (shift-4 on the English layout) and a message, and all your alliance members will see it, wherever they are.
- Party chat (Party Chat) — type "#" (shift-3 on the English layout) and a message, and all members of your current party will see it.
- Trade chat (Trade Chat) — type "+" and a message, and everyone in the trade chat will see it.
- Whisper (Whisper) — type " followed immediately by another player's name to send them a private message.
- Shout (Shout) — type "!" (shift-1) and a message, and everyone in the area will hear it.
- Heroes (Hero) — type "%" and a message, and all players on the server will see it. This channel is only available to Heroes, and they can only use it 1 time every 10 seconds.
Message service MSN (MSN Messenger)
In Lineage 2, players can chat with their friends in and outside the game using the microsoft MSN Messenger. service. Click the MSN Messenger icon in the lower left corner of the chat window to open it.
While in the game, you can contact all friends on your friend list (friend-list) without registering in the service. If you log in with an account registered in the service itself, you'll be able to chat not only with other players but also with people outside the game. You can use the standard MSN features, such as chatting with other users, changing your status and inviting new users, but file transfer and video chat will remain unavailable to you.
If you play another character but use the same MSN account, the MSN contact list stays with your account, and the character's friend list is added to it.
Command channel window
If the leader of a clan above level 5 invites a party with the /channelinvite command or the Channel Invitation button in the party actions section of the actions window (Alt+C), a multi-party command window and a new chat channel are created. Clan members who aren't leaders can create such a channel only if the clan skill "Clan Imperium" is active.
Maximum number of parties — 50.
As soon as the channel's creator disbands their party, the channel disappears.
If the channel's creator unexpectedly disconnects from the game or passes leadership to another party member, the channel creator's privileges pass on as well. The player who gets leadership doesn't have to be the leader of a clan above level 5. In other words, only leaders of clans above level 5 can create a channel, but they can pass the channel creator's privileges to any member of their party. Other parties can be invited with the /channelinvite command or the Channel Invitation button in the party actions section of the actions window (Alt+C). When an invitation to join the channel is sent, the leaders of the other parties get a window to accept or decline it.
After the channel is created, its leader can send command messages and announcements to everyone in the channel using the All Command. icon. Each party leader can send messages to the channel by pressing this button.
The following commands are used in a multi-party channel:
- /channeldelete — closes the channel.
- /channelinvite Name — invites parties to the channel.
- /channelkick Leader's name — kicks parties from the channel.
- /channelleave — leave the channel.
- /channelinfo — shows information about the channel.
Assigned hotkey icons can now be swapped with each other.

The party window option that lets you adjust the window size is on the left side of the window.
You can control the display of buffs and debuffs on party members by pressing the View Buffs button (Alt+F).
Radar and map (7)
Compare the direction you're facing, using the compass pointing at 12:00, with the direction you're going to head. The red letter "N" shows where north is and, using your current position as the center, shows your target's location and the location of your party members. The target is shown as a red dot, and party members as green ones.
Your character's current position can take on different colors. They can be:
- Gray — general zones, closed zones (Seven Signs area, Four Sepulchers etc.).
- Blue — peace zone.
- Red — altered zone (a debuff or buff is applied to you in it).
- Orange — siege zone.
- Green — PvP Arena.
