The box has a padlock on it; open it with the key. Inside are a book and a hairpin. Examine Lidia's Hairpin and take it. The book lying there is wrapped in thread. Tear it off and open Lidia's Diary — it's Lidia's diary. If you keep examining the box, you'll find it's empty.
Return to High Priest Innocentin and tell him about the finds. He can't stand the evil emanation from the items and will ask you to read the book. Agree. He wants to ask you a few questions about it:
The priest will ask what kind of book it is. Answer that it's a diary.
He'll ask whether it covers the period after Lidia became the Lady of the Forest (Lord of the Forest).
Read the diary if you haven't yet. You'll learn how Wizard Nidrah influenced her father. Lidia learned of the betrayal and turned against the sorcerer after her family's death. She delved into the essence of the sorcerer's ceremony. It's unknown what happened next, but the handwriting in the diary changed (!).
Innocentin will want to know everything. Say that Lidia signed some kind of contract. The priest will blame the sorcerer. Say that Lidia contacted him herself.
When he asks about the hairpin, say it belongs to the Lady Forest of the Dead. The priest will conclude that it's Lidia's.
