Skills
I'm not covering the skills of Orc Mystic and Orc Shaman. Our goal is the Doomcryer's own skills. I won't go through all the skills, because many are useless or of little use. Many drop off as you level. So I focus only on the needed and positive skills. I also don't mention the books for increasing buff slots; they're learned at levels 40, 61 and 76. The 4th, last buff slot can be obtained for an expensive book from the Olympiad. I also won't describe how in GF and starting from the Freya chronicles the Warcryer regenerates MP from melee hits.
40-75
(The amulets can be dropped from the Graveyard Royal Guard monster. Location: the Witch's Catacombs)
- Chant of Critical - For 40 minutes increases Critical Rate by 30% and Critical Damage by 35% of all party members. [72 lvl, MP: 67]
(The amulet can be dropped from the Soldier of Ancient Times monster. Location: the Valley of Silence)
- Chant of Blood Awakening - For 40 minutes increases Atk. Spd. by 33%, and 9% of normal physical damage dealt to the enemy is converted into HP for party members. [74 lvl, MP: 69]
- Lv. 1 - Increases P. Atk. by 4.5
- Lv. 2 - Increases P. Atk. by 14
- Lv. 3 - Increases P. Atk. by 33.5
- Lv. 4 - Increases P. Atk. by 66.5
- Lv. 5 - Increases P. Atk. by 90.5
- Lv. 6 - Increases P. Atk. by 141.5
- Lv. 7 - Increases P. Atk. by 208.5
- Lv. 8 - Increases P. Atk. by 247
- Lv. 9 - Increases P. Atk. by 310
- Lv. 10 - Increases P. Atk. by 375.5
76-81
Well, I can congratulate you - you're a Doomcryer. A buffer with a capital B. And now almost all roads are open to you (well, except Hellbound, you need level 78 for that :))
- Increases the skill effect's duration 2 times
- Instantly "resets" the skill's reuse
- The higher INT, the higher the trigger chance.
- 82
All the books for these skills used to be for level 81, but they have now been moved to level 82.
I don't know how often it triggers

Sets
- C Grade:
Here you have a choice of armor types: light, robe or heavy. Personally I recommend either the "Plated Leather" set or the "Divine Tunic"; "Karmian" is also good (not common). If you're short of money, take a common "Full Plate" with a shield and don't sweat it. It all depends on how and where you level.
- Divine Tunic:+5,24% P. Def., +171 MP, +1 WIT, -1 INT (total P. Def. 159)
Plated Leather: +4 STR, -1 CON (total P. Def. 185)
- Karmian:+5,24% P. Def., +15% casting speed (total P. Def. 129)
- For a weapon, either a dagger with Focus+++ or a blunt. You don't really need a magic weapon yet. But if you really want one, a Club of Nature with the Acumen SA is just great.
- """B Grade:
- Avadon robe: +5,25% P. Def., +15% casting speed (total P. Def. 271)
Blue Wolf robe: +206 MP, +5,24% to MP regen, +3 WIT, -2 INT, -1 MEN (total P. Def. 289)
- Weapons: a Kris with Focus ++++ or a great sword with Focus; of the magic weapons, only a Spell Breaker with Acumen. If you want a blunt, you can make do with a common one.
- A Grade:
It's not so simple here. We have as many as 4 sets to choose from: Majestic, Dark Crystal, Tallum robe and Tallum heavy. Of course you can experiment with other sets, but these are the best.
- Dark Crystal robe (the most popular):+8% P. Def., +15% casting speed, +7 running speed, slightly reduces cast interruption, +50 to paralysis resistance, +2 WIT, -2 MEN (total P. Def. 300)
- Tallum robe (the most common and cheapest):+8% M. Def., +15% casting speed, +80% to poison resistance, -80% chance of a bleeding wound, +2 WIT, -2 INT (total P. Def. 300)
- Majestic robe:+8% to MP regeneration speed, +240 MP, +15% casting speed, -50% chance of getting shocked, +1 MEN, -1 INT (total P. Def. 318)
- Tallum heavy:+8% Atk. Spd., +5759 to weight, +80% to poison resistance, -80% chance of a bleeding wound, +2 STR, -2 CON (total P. Def. 439)
Each armor has its pros and cons: DC and Tallum robe - the difference between them is small, but for PvP and brawls DC is still better. MJ if you level solo or with a wolf; or if you don't go to PvP, sieges, brawls or party leveling, Tallum heavy is an excellent choice with a Focus dagger - a nonstop meat grinder of sorts
- Melee weapons only with Focus: the same Kris+++, Bloody Orchid, Meteor Shower. Of magic weapons, only Acumen: Flaming Dragon Skull; if you're short of money - Branch of the Mother Tree.
- S Grade:
- Arcana set+17% M. Atk., +7 to running speed, -50% cast interruption chance, +50% to stun resistance, +5759 to weight, +1 WIT, +1 INT, -2 MEN (total P. Def. 359)
- Weapons: an Arcana Mace with Acumen, an AS for melee; it would be nice to have a Basalt with fire stones for Hammer Crush and Burning Chop.
In principle it doesn't matter which attribute you put in the Arcana robe, but fire/water is still better since they're the most common, and in the Arcana weapon better something rare, or whatever you can afford.
- S80 Grade
- Dynasty Silver Satin Set - PvP Wizard
INT-2, MEN+2, Casting Spd. +15%, Max MP +321. Dark resistance +8, MP consumption for magic skills -6%, spell interruption chance -15, reduced damage received in PvP. Has a chance to lower the chance of receiving a Critical Hit and Critical Attack damage when the character is attacked.
- S84 Grade:
- Vesper Noble set When used: INT+1, MEN-2, WIT+1, M. Atk. +8,47%, Casting Spd. +15%, MP +5,57% recovery speed, Stun Defense +50%, chance to reflect enemy spells -30. Allows wearing cloaks.
Cannon
- C Grade:For a weapon, either a dagger with Focus+++ or a blunt. You don't really need a magic weapon yet. But if you really want one, a Club of Nature with the Acumen SA is just great.
- """B Grade:a Kris with Focus ++++ or a great sword with Focus; of the magic weapons, only a Spell Breaker with Acumen. If you want a blunt, you can make do with a common one.
- A Grade:Melee weapons only with Focus: the same Kris+++, Bloody Orchid, Meteor Shower. Of magic weapons, only Acumen: Flaming Dragon Skull; if you're short of money - Branch of the Mother Tree.
- S Grade:an Arcana Mace with Acumen, an AS for melee (if you have a lot of money for shots), it would be nice to have a Basalt with fire stones for Hammer Crush and Burning Chop.
- S80 Grade: Icarus Hall Acumen: Increases Casting Spd. by 15%. Increases damage dealt in PvP.
- S84 Grade:
- Vesper Caster - PvP AcumenCasting Spd. increases by 15%. Increases damage dealt in PvP. Has a chance to increase Casting Spd. when taking damage.
Skill enchanting
Having become a Doomcryer, you can now enchant your skills. Each enchant requires a certain amount of XP and SP, and also 1 book for enchanting each skill. If an enchant fails, enchanting that skill again requires a new book.
- There are 4 types of skill enchant books in the game:
- Giant's Codex - a simple book for enchanting a skill
- Giant's Codex - Discipline - needed to change a skill's enchant route
P.S. The books are obtained for Noblesse Gate Passes, which are farmed at the Olympiad, and also from merchants near fortresses. Below I'll list the skills available for enchanting (in the order they appear at NPC), and point out their possible enchant routes. Spoiler:
Tattoo
- Standard for a magic setup: +5 WIT -5 MEN, +4 CON -4 STR.
For a melee one: standard: -CON +STR. If you run with a blunt, this is quite good: +STR -DEX. If you run with a dagger: you can use the standard one or (if you miss a lot) +DEX -STR or -CON. CON; cutting is not recommended for PvP.
- Shirts:CP only. Preferably A grade, since it's cheap and so are the enchants. And enchant to +++
Leveling
- Leveling spots:
- 40-50
- Solo leveling is decent near Aden, left of the bridge on the road to the Cemetery, after 45-46 and all the way to 50 in the Fields of Massacre; herbs drop there, so there'll be no problems. Solo leveling goes fast at these levels.
- 40-50
- 50-60+
- Find 2 dwarves you know (with top-B polearms; common will do) and go wreck: teleport from Aden to the Ancient Battleground. One dwarf gathers 2-3 crowds, then two in the center smash them with skill polearms; you need only 1 skill from each dwarf, and you just cast the crit rate buff and the P. Atk. buff and regenerate HP (you need loooots of MP elixirs). If it's very hard and you can't cope (read: the dwarves die often), call an EE for help, since there's a lot of stunning there (she'll cast the anti-shock resist); dwarves also run out of MP fast, but there's sooo much XP and money.
- After 60, look for a crafter with a teapot or a Tyrant, and you can run around the Forbidden Gateway a bit; if it's crowded, then the same mobs near Kabrio. The leveling isn't great, but still better than nothing.
- 50-60+
- 62-70+
- The simplest option is leveling with a crafter near Goddard. You only buff, and the dwarf's golem does everything itself. Great leveling, but crowded. For a weapon, preferably a blunt, since a dagger misses brutally there.
- 62-70+
Argos Wall: Warcryer+Tyrant with a crafter or a couple of daggers; better bring a BD.
- A pretty good location near Rune: the Forest of the Dead; you can take a resource quest right at the teleport (they don't give much, but it's fun).
- If you're smart and have a Great Wolf, you can level with it in the same locations; the downside is that your wolf eats a bit of XP, but on average the leveling is much more profitable.
- 70+
- In the Giant's Cave with the wolf. Tons of XP, lots of herbs. Great leveling, but little adena drops
It doesn't matter whether it's a dagger or a blunt; even with a dagger you'll miss little.
- 74-75+
- The upper Blazing Swamp, taking the quest for 75 moons along the way. With a crafter or with the wolf. If you plan to do Noblesse via the shortened route without a sub, you can sell the moons (they drop from pouches, the pouches from shamans).
- Varka and Ketra: here it's better to find a big party and quickly raise the alliance level via the quest for the 3 class. After that you can sit there duo with the wolf or in a mini party on the recipe quest as long as you like. The mobs have high evasion; a blunt is recommended.
- If you have a static: Forge, Monastery of Silence, IT, Pagan.
- IoP with a wolf/crafter or a Tyrant.
- 74-75+
Try to find a static/clan as early as possible. Before 63 few will take a Warcryer for leveling, but once the newbie buff ends, everyone will need your buffs right away.
If you have a Great Wolf, you can calmly head to the catacombs; it's good to take a BD with you. Even better if the BD also has a wolf. After 78+ farming AA in the catacombs will be a problem, so stock up on AA in advance for unsealing A and S gear, inserting SAs, tattoos and other stuff. And if you don't have a wolf, look for a dwarf crafter. His golem isn't much worse than a wolf, and it eats not your XP but crystals and shots.
Class quests
- Quest for the 1 class:Path to an Orc Shaman
- Quests for the 2 class: Trial of the Pilgrim, Testimony of Glory and Test of the War Spirit, or the alternative quest Good Work's Reward.
- Quest for the 3 class: Saga of the Doomcryer
Olympiad
What does the Warcryer have? The Warcryer has wonderful buffs, the ability to wear heavy armor, the ability to stun and, most importantly, Soul Cry, which raises P. Atk. (and not by a percentage, but by an absolute value). In most cases our hope is to stun the opponent, turn on Enlightenment and hammer away. If that doesn't help, we lose. In long fights, a dagger/fists with PvP inserts will help a lot. But at the Olympiad we're gimps meant to kill noobs or have fun in class-based fights. If there are any constructive corrections or additions, maybe I'm not entirely right about something - please join the discussion 8*)
Conclusion
I tried to put a lot of information into this guide, but a lot was still left out. I deliberately excluded things like PvP and some others, because covering them would take another article, or maybe even several.
The Warcryer isn't just a character, it's a calling and the heart of any party. These characters have little fun and work a lot for the party. You need strong nerves and calm to play one day after day.
I hope I've revealed the main basics of this truly heavenly character :). A little training, and the whole party will depend on you and pray to you. If you're ready to spend your desire to conquer on supporting 8 other people, if you can take responsibility for your party's life - this character is for you. And you'll be repaid in full :)
