Warlock (Freya) guide — Warlock
Warlock class guide for Lineage 2 Freya: how to get the class, which skills to take, what to wear and where to level.
Who is the Warlock? Warlock is one of the paths of the Human mystic class (Human Mystic). Warlocks specialize in summoning (summoning). As the character develops, they'll be able to summon helpers (summons) in battle and even other players (which is partly what made this class popular). Besides summoning, skills will appear to help (heal, apply buffs to your summon) your summons and to apply debuffs to enemy summons and other players. Playing a Warlock is all about controlling your summon. You'll level your character and fight monsters and other players, combining the abilities of your summon and your character. Like all summoners, the cat summoner is one of the best classes for solo players. He doesn't need outside buffs or top gear for PvE.

Also, using the cat's skill (Recharge), you can restore your MP.
The cat summoner's only summon whose damage isn't reduced in PvP.
It can cast a useful self buff, reflect damage, which reflects part of the melee damage taken by the cat back to the attacker.

Set bonuses: P. Def. +5.24%, Casting Spd. +15%
Karmian Tunic 60 225 Karmian Stockings 37 141 Karmian Gloves 32
+206 MP +5.24% to MP +3 regeneration speed, WIT, -2 INT, -1 MEN
+5.25% P. Def., +15% Casting Spd.
+5.24% P. Def., +15% Casting Spd., +3 MEN, -2 INT, -1 WIT
8% to MP regeneration speed, +240MP, +15% Casting Spd., -50% chance of getting shocked, +1 MEN, -1 INT. The casting speed bonus is a bit less than in the two previous options, but still nice. In general the set suits those who have MP problems. In my opinion, if you've decided to level in the catacombs, this is probably the best set, since that's exactly where mobs like to use Stun, against which this set has an extra 50% defense.
+8% M. Def., +15% Casting Spd., +80% to poison resistance, -80% chance of getting a bleeding wound, +2 WIT, -2 INT. Adds nicely to casting speed and suits solo leveling; magic defense is never superfluous either, especially if you level without outside buffs; poison and bleed defense will let you save on antidotes and bandages, as well as avoid a relatively silly death;
+8% P. Def., +15% Casting Spd., +7 movement speed, slightly lowers the chance of cast interruption, +50% to paralysis resistance, +2 WIT, -2 MEN. Also a good casting speed bonus; the P. Def. bonus won't hurt either; the small running speed bonus will let you run confidently with archers without falling behind as often; paralysis resistance is more useful in PvP than in everyday life (i.e. while leveling);
+17% M. Atk., +7 speed, +50% to stun defense, -50% cast interruption chance, +5759 Weight Limit, +1 WIT, +1 INT, -2 MEN. Also a useful running speed bonus; the chance of the cast being interrupted drops by 50% (that's not very scary for us, except during resummoning; under more or less decent buffs the resummon is fast too), and stun resistance is useful both in PvP and while leveling.
- S80
- The budget option.
The stats of this set: INT-1, MEN+1, Casting Spd. +12%, Max MP +257, Dark Resistance +6. It's best to make the rare S80 Summoner set using Essences (another name is shoulder pad), which has stats different from the regular one: INT-2, MEN+2, Casting Spd. +15%, Max MP +321, Dark Resistance +8, increased P. Atk. and P. Def.
- The budget option.
Weapons
- Usually the choice falls on
Homunkulus's sword/SA acumen (or the somewhat more economical Mystic Sword for "healers"), which increases Casting Spd. by 15% and lets you heal the cat faster, as well as help the summon with magic strikes. Of course, if you don't have money for a normal weapon with an SA, it's even simpler and more profitable to buy a Chinese top-C weapon (Common Item - Ecliptic Sword). - B grade
[[File:Weapon hell knife i01.png] HellKnife SA Mental Shield 4 - randomly puts the Mental Shield buff on the target when buffing or healing, which increases its resistance to Erase, Sleep, Root and Fear (sleep, fear, hold etc.). There are other weapons with the Mental Shield SA, but the dagger is the lightest.
- A grade
As a rule it stays the same as at the previous level. There's no real point replacing Valhalla with SoM (Sword of Miracles).
- S grade
Arcana Mace with Acumen (Casting Spd. SA) and an attribute is highly desirable. - First, when choosing an attribute, consider not only the price of the stones but also where you plan to level, so you don't end up with your favorite mobs resisting it;
- Second, appetites grow over time, and active players already admit it's better to have several attribute types at your disposal (depending on the size of your wallet).
- S-grade weapons can also be upgraded for PvP for Fame points. You can see the upgrade types in Aden at Rapidus, the Reputation Manager (who also performs the upgrades)
Tattoos
Tattoos are chosen based on your set, play style and level. The most common tattoos are -int +wit, -str +con and/or -str +dex. (To save money you can use shop tattoos, but at the 70s it's better to switch to the tattoos sold by the Merchant of Mammon. I'll write about tattoos that subtract and add the same value.)
- STR - STR, strength; affects P. Atk. and carrying capacity;
- DEX - DEX; affects Atk. Spd., accuracy, the accuracy of lethal blows and evasion, critical rate, running speed, and shield block chance.
- CON - CON, constitution; affects HP and CP, adds carrying capacity and stun resistance;
- INT - INT, intelligence; affects M. Atk.;
- WIT - WIT, wit; affects Casting Spd. and magic critical rate;
- MEN - MEN, mentality; affects MP, M. Def. and MP regeneration speed.
Tattoo options
- +4 INT +4 WIT and its variations (+5 WIT or +5 INT), i.e. raising Casting Spd. and intellectual abilities in different proportions
- -4 INT and +4 WIT, or even +4 MEN. An option for leveling without PvP, i.e. boosting casting, MP regen and M. Def. at the cost of INT
- Nice to have: +4 CON (or +4DEX) - 4STR Usually it's done at levels 50+, but if you don't plan to fight mobs yourself, you can do it right at 40.
Leveling
General
Cat-keepers, cat-herders, cat circus tamers, kitties, kittycats, greedy PPs, lords of fluffy demons - whatever they call us, we remain one of the most independent classes in Lineage - summoners. We're best suited for solo leveling, since we can cast buffs (support magic) and heal (cure our furry friends). Without much trouble, if you want, you can reach level 85 alone without limiting yourself much on gear. At any level the catacombs and necropolises are relevant for us - there, alone or with one extra person, you can successfully hold a room. You also shouldn't neglect instances (temporary zones). Labyrinths, Kamaloka and solo zones were made specifically to make leveling easier. Run them every day and in a short time you'll reach the level where you can discover the charms of all the game's high-level content. After reaching 56 you can become support for big parties - you'll get the Feline Queen and Summon Friend, which can pull a party member to you if they have a summoning crystal. The new cat gives 2 unique buffs - Blessing of the Queen and Gift of the Queen. The first increases the power and frequency of crits by 20-30% depending on level. The second increases physical attack and accuracy - I won't give exact numbers here, but if the main DDs (those who deal damage) depend more on attack (Gladiators, dwarves, other summoners), they'll certainly be glad too. Don't refuse leveling in a full party (9 people) as support in good locations (Antharas' Lair aka LoA, Monastery of Silence aka MoS, Imperial Tomb aka IT, Tower of Insolence aka ToI, Hellbound aka HB). It'll help you get away from the computer - with a simple macro you can leave your character without your direct involvement for 12 to 30 minutes, saving your mental resources.
- 40+
- So we've reached the long-awaited 40, got the green icon, got paid for the deposited CRP, acquired the necessary gear and a handful of Spirit Ore. Where do we level now?
- One of my favorite places was the Dragon Valley, not far above Giran. There's a convenient teleport to it, which saves time on travel.
Right at the entrance we see 42-44 undead. Here you can level with nukes from the 2 class, refilling your MP with Kat. As a weapon I'd advise using a shadow magic weapon, since a weapon with high M. Atk. and 3 consumed shots is of no use to us later... moving forward this way you can level until about 56. As an option, you can level this way around the Ivory Tower. There's also an interesting location next to the capital of Aden - Aden itself... the Fields of Glory. Here it's better to practice using Kai. Combining nukes and cat control, you can raise your level quickly.
- Another similar location is the Forest of Evil near Oren. Again, regular mobs and herbs.
- Alligator Island near Heine is also interesting. Don't overdo the nukes here - the mobs hit quite hard, so it's better to use only the cat. Lots of herbs drop here, so don't hesitate to heal your summon. You can hold out here until 48, but it's better to finish at 44.
- 44+
- At 44 we get our first skill upgrade. Learn Kai, heal and the binding cubic right away.
- Now you can level in the Enchanted Valley, above the Hunters' Village. The mobs in this location have x2-x4 HP, which is very useful for us - it cuts the time spent searching and moving between mobs. Nukes aren't as relevant here, but you'll need the binding cubic. The location has 2 levels - the lower for 44+ and the upper for 48-52+. You can level here up to 58.
- Cruma Tower above Dion is also interesting. You may need help here. The mobs are tanky and strong, many use strong magic skills and are social with each other. All this more than pays off with drops and good XP. The tower won't let you in after 56, but until then it's at your disposal.
- You can also get decent XP at the Cemetery on the Aden side. The mobs are placed quite densely and die easily. In this location you can do the coin quest, which is taken at the warehouse in the Hunters' Village.
- 52+
- 52-56 is a turning point for every class. All the main skills have appeared and the last unique items open up.
- We have a wide choice of locations here: the Battleground, the Cemetery, the Seal of Shilen. These 3 locations are next to each other, east of Aden. Leveling at the Seal of Shilen and the Battleground is similar - regular x1 mobs with herbs. At the Cemetery the mobs are placed more densely, so you'll hardly have to run from mob to mob.
- The Fields of Silence (also near Aden) will be interesting - an interesting location with interesting mobs that give increased XP.
- 62+
- We now have the cat's blessing - an extremely useful buff. Removes paralysis, root, etc.
Here our road leads straight to Goddard. Around it and the castle there's a fairly large location, the "Garden of Beasts". The mobs there have weakened defense and die quickly and easily. Potions drop from them in abundance, so there are no MP problems. The mobs are spread out fairly widely, so you'll have to run around.
- The Valley of Saints near the town of Rune may also seem interesting. There's an interesting resource quest at the entrance and a chance to drop the DC gloves recipe. Personally I didn't like the location - the mobs hit hard, and the mages often crit with nukes, which is very dangerous.
- If you want some extreme and you're tired of running around locations, the entrance to Antharas' Lair is the place for you. You can go 1 here, but it's better to take a couple of people - more fun and safer)
- 66+
- Here we can go to the wonderful location "Swamp of Screams" near Rune. Stakatos live here, and there's a resource quest. All mobs are weak to melee. At first it's better to level near the teleport - a regular melee location. When you grow up, go north - the mobs there are older and there are dome-rooms (I never figured out what they are; maybe someone knows what they're called and what they're for???). In such a room the mobs are a bit denser, and mobs from the surroundings run into them - you know, fleeing mobs? Herbs, money and A pieces drop in the location...
- Also worth mentioning is the area around Goddard. There's quite a wide range of mob levels with a weakness to melee. The mobs are x1 and not placed too densely, but not too far apart either. There are herbs.
- 73+
- Aha, here we are among the mighty of this world. Well, not quite here, not quite the mighty and not quite of this world, but 73 is the prelude to getting the third class.
- Most people lean toward leveling at the Hot Springs. The mobs here are x2, herbs drop. Not far from the teleport there are tents with NPCs. One of the NPCs gives the ice crystal quest, which we'll need to get the 3 class. I didn't like it much here - many mobs stun, and the cat suffers.
- Also, for the 3 class, leveling in Varka (the Varka Silenos Barracks location to the left of Goddard) will be useful (and certainly profitable). Here we have a location with herbs and a weakness to melee attacks. From 74 in Ketra you take the alliance quest with the Ketra orcs - for the 3 class we need to raise it to level 1. Note that XP here isn't great - the mobs stand far apart, and there's always very strong competition in the location. But the drop of pure adena is very high here. The quest can also be done the other way round - an alliance with the goats (silenos) and killing orcs in the Ketra Orc Outpost. The orcs have no melee weakness, but competition in that location is much lower... so decide for yourselves.
- 77+
- By this time we'll assume that you've taken the 3 class, bought at least 150-attribute fists and learned "Warrior Servitor". At this level you can keep leveling in Varka and on IoP (Crystal Isle). However, after an endless stretch of depressing solo leveling, a location like the Imperial Tomb (IT) is more interesting. You're very unlikely to farm this location effectively solo, but if you take a BD, a WC/SE (underline as needed) and, if you like, another DD into your party, you can kill mobs very effectively. I won't say anything more; try it and it'll come. If you do a Noblesse teleport to 4 of the tomb, the first room upstairs farms well as a duo with a buffer.
- 79+
- We leveled up and learned the King... HOORAY!
But there's nothing new here; don't get your hopes up, keep leveling. You can try pulling the Crypts of Disgrace as a duo on the mobs standing around the teleport, or the Den of Evil solo. However, at your level both locations have a serious penalty, so don't get your hopes up. Some farm the Plains of Power near Oren already at this level - I can't say anything about how effective that leveling is.
- I won't say anything about Hellbound - leveling here is only interesting in a party.
- 80+
- For us solo grinders, the Eastern Rim is interesting. With the party we've already settled on - WC, BD and DD - we enter and get into something like a rift, but if we drop out we don't lose the entry. However, keep in mind small flaws in the game mechanics - on RuOff servers there were periodic problems: if the whole party left the instance, you couldn't return to the zone and had to wait for the instance to end to enter again.
the mobs inside are x3-x8. Normal attacks are compensated by vampiric without losses, but the skills they use quite often hit very hard. So before entering, apply Bless HP and MP to all party members - if you get into big, hard rooms, it'll help a lot. Also apply Bless HP to the cat from the stick. Excellent XP and drops here - the main thing is to find 80+ participants. Don't forget that the new locations Crypts of Disgrace and Den of Evil are now much easier to farm. The simplest way to level is the crypts as a duo with an SE... here we can act like bots and control the whole process calmly and steadily, scratching the belly of our pet summon. A WC also works, but it's not the same)
- 82+
- In the Freya update, the Wild Beast Reserve near Rune and the Plains of Power (formerly the Plains of Sky Shadow near Oren) were reworked. You can farm there earlier, but from 82 attribute crystal quests appear here.
Subclasses, subclass skills
Addendum:The Warrior skill for CP can be replaced with resists. Since Freya you can get creative and take counter-haste (the trigger will activate on both the summoner and the summon).
Olympiad
A more or less illustrative guide to the Olympiad is the move DreDa.
General observations and the High Five update
I'd like to add that it's very hard for summoners to boost DPS (DDs under the same buffs will be much stronger). Melee DPS is boosted by crits, which won't work with the cat's crit rate. Excessive Loyalty is actively used for leveling - you aggro one mob onto yourself, the mob hits the summoner, loyalty triggers, you hit other mobs with the cat and control your HP. As for the weapon attribute, some summoners think it's best to get a hurricane from LSs and choose wind, since Mew is a "windy girl", so we kill two birds with one stone.
