Town of Goddard is the homeland of many brave heroes, and also a center of study and research. Long ago it was built by Orc as a defensive fortress, but now it's the heart of the military activity of the state of Human. Don't underestimate the locals just because they live in relatively wild country, says Halaster. In fact, the harder their life, the greater their thirst for knowledge. It's not just theoretical knowledge — it's an effective way to survive.
The town is divided into two levels. The lower level has houses, shops and various guilds. The upper level has elite houses, the temple and Clan Hall. The elite classes here aren't as liberal as elsewhere in Aden. Here they treat outsiders with all seriousness. They don't let just anyone onto the upper level. But a traveler shouldn't have any problems.
There's an influential Warrior Guild here that, quite recently and on the ruler's orders, reluctantly gave up premises for a temple of Einhasad. The Temple building is cut deep into a huge massive mountain, from whose summit you can see the spire of Aden Castle gleaming in the sun.
In such a restless town it's very hard to keep the peace. Not a day goes by without some rogue showing up and spoiling everything. Dangerous monsters lurk all around. The rich complain that it isn't safe to live here.
In Goddard everyone is stirred up by rumors of war between the Varka Silenos and the Ketra Orcs, as well as by news of the awakening of the fire dragon Valakas.
Strong fire energy heats this whole area. This is because of the volcano in the north, claims Alminas of the Magic Guild.
Only the best warriors gather in Goddard, believes Bernhard; they're known for always being in excellent readiness. They're head and shoulders above the "idlers" from the south, proud and talking about chivalry. Goddard's army is mighty, hardened by the rough landscape and wild beasts.
Kamilen says that some call this town the "Town of War" or the "Military Fortress"; the basic truths never change. True, Elmore is a defeated country, and Goddard is the place where the kingdom lost.
Goddard is a land of war and fire, Aklan of the Orc Guild is sure. In this place blood boils like the lava spewed by the volcanoes of the north. Soon the time of struggle will come for Paagrio's famous warriors.
"This icy air is perfect for tempering steel. Burning fire and icy air — what more do you need for good, strong steel! The conflict of opposites tempers" — Noel. The best armor in the kingdom is forged here — largely thanks to the blacksmiths of the Black Anvil Guild. That's why Goddard has the best weapon shop, according to Leon (Trader).
But representatives of the Kamael race believe a black aura hangs over the town, like mist over a pond. They sense a great evil — a dark shadow of hatred and revenge lurks in these streets and alleys. A massacre could break out here at any moment.
The town is home to Agnes, a follower of Eva, to whom adepts from very distant lands come to bow.
But rumor has it that Dark Pilgrims, servants of Gran Kain, have been seen near the town. The locals are worried by their appearance.
Goddard Castle is located on the other side of the mountain and is a practically impregnable fortification with multi-level defenses. Near the castle are massive walls blocking the approaches to the plain in front of the fortress gates. The Castle's structure is similar to the town of Goddard and is also two-level.
