Town of Dion — now looks like a poor town, but it once flourished. Its main source of wealth was wheat, harvested on the broad plain of Dion.
After the recent war with Gracia, when huge sums went into equipping and supplying large armies, taxes rose sharply. Peasant unrest broke out east of the town, and now Dion is one of the poorest regions in the kingdom, because grain sales fell sharply and the local lord never found other sources of income. The local aristocracy left the town long ago: the rich moved to Town of Giran and Town of Aden, and only the poor, who can't afford housing elsewhere, stayed in the town.
Unfortunately, after all these events, bands of monsters began gathering around the town. In the northwestern part of Cruma Marshlands, the Marsh Stakato are setting up their positions. In the northeastern part, Ol Mahum partisans exiled from Gracia have settled. Further up, the Enku Orcs, Tumran Bugbears and Delu Lizardmen are waiting for the slightest opportunity to plunder the village. At night the Undead crawl out of the Execution Grounds to the east and terrorize the locals. But the state hasn't forgotten Dion. The fourth platoon of the Black Lion squad, which swore allegiance to the Lord of Dion, was sent to the town to rid these lands of monsters. But, as Sophya says, the number of monsters was badly underestimated.
Xaber says that many criminals fought on Gracia's side, and now, after their defeat, most of them have remained in these lands. When Gracia suffered a crushing defeat, these bandits deserted and formed robber gangs. They say they make a living by deceit and fraud in the dark alleys of Dion, so travelers should be extremely careful.
The land around Dion is overflowing with magical power, connected with the giants' ruins north of the village.
Lord: Duke Ashton
The town of Dion has three Clan Hall, the cheapest in the kingdom.
