Town of Giran is rightly considered the trade capital of Aden. It stands at the crossroads of important trade routes — the roads from Heine, Town of Dion, Town of Aden and Town of Oren meet here. Merchants from all over the continent come here and bring the most exotic goods. That's why a huge number of unique items found nowhere else are sold here. It has the only luxury shop (apart from, perhaps, Lansk's), where you can buy very rare items at an affordable price.
Because huge numbers of people come to the city, good security is needed here — there have been many cases of robbery or murder for profit. Martien, head of the Giran Merchants' Guild and also the richest man in the city, says that guild members work hard to accumulate wealth. But marauding bugbears, orc gangs and ratmen don't do the trade situation any good. So Martien hired people and created an elite guard, led by Sir Ortho Lancer, which tirelessly protects the citizens' peace day and night. Otto Lancer himself was recently knighted by Lord Estus for heroic deeds in the past — namely for fighting the deserters who were running amok west of the city. Back then Lancer served in the Black Lion army in Dion, but after his knighting he moved to Giran. Master Dafner assures us that Giran is not just a city of "fat merchants": there are many brave warriors here who also come to earn money, since service here pays better than anywhere.
Sir Kristof Rodemai says the royal family has become mired in feuds and has recently split apart. The breakup of the royal family has had catastrophic consequences for the kingdom; chaos, dissent and ruin have reached alarming proportions. Now even evil spirits act with impunity.
Meldina claims that all sorts of races mix here, and nobody is surprised to see an orc calmly trading with a dwarf, whereas far to the north, in Town of Schuttgart, a fight would surely break out between them. Only the Kamael are treated with too much suspicion here; they are seen as outsiders.
Pushkin, a member of the Black Anvil Guild, says that Giran is a very profitable place, and together with his brother Rupio he dreams of making their forge the best establishment in the city.
Graham tells us that strong monsters have appeared in the area, so you need to be prepared when leaving the city. He also says that nowhere else will you find such unique goods as in Giran, from weapons made by famous dwarven craftsmen to mithril weapons that hold the mysterious power of the Elves. Cooper complains that the city is too noisy — which is bad for pets: they grow up frightened and weak.
Goldian says that balls are held at Giran Castle every two weeks. The best dancers gather there to show the art of dance, and hundreds of people come to watch their graceful movements.
And the most famous shop in the kingdom — the Luxury Shop — is run by a strange couple: the dwarf Galladucci and the human woman Alexandria. The most unusual thing is… they are husband and wife! And now the shop is open for business again after several years of neglect. It has a wide selection of fine weapons and armor. Only the shop doesn't accept cash — currency is too volatile, especially in a place like Giran — so you'll have to pay with crystals, which are more reliable financially.
Lord: Carmon Estus
Taxes are collected from: the Town of Giran, Hardin's Academy and Giran Harbor.
Clan halls: Giran has five A-grade clan halls.
